In March 2013, a hard-working team of people from G & J Parking Lot Maintenance LP partnered with Emmanuel Foundation to install playground equipment at six locations in Bulembu, Swaziland.
Swaziland has the highest HIV rates in the world. With a life expectancy of 32 years in 2009, thousands of children have been orphaned. Bulembu is home to many of these children. Bulembu Ministries Swaziland is working to rebuild the town by providing nurturing homes, education, medical attention, and industry for the orphaned children living there with the ultimate goal of creating a thriving, self-sustained community. This was G & J’s fifth trip to the area contributing to community development through the sharing of supplies, hard work, and love.
The large composite playground pictured here was installed in the heart of town providing hours of play, physical activity, socializing and enjoyment for the kids in the entire community. Swings, spring rides, and a variety of other equipment were installed at the preschool, primary school, and toddler and baby homes.
