The full name of our charity is the Emmanuel Foundation for International Community Development. It is our stated purpose that we desire to demonstrate God’s love by sharing our resources to create hope for a better tomorrow for individuals, families and communities of developing countries in the areas of their physical, social and spiritual wellbeing.
We seek to be guided by the principles of Sustainable Development, Community Initiative, Value of a Child and Green Stewardship. (see About EF). With this in mind everything we are doing, including the playground projects and the work of the Distribution Center, is with the goal of serving people in need – especially children – by supporting their efforts to transform their communities for good.
Currently we are involved in such projects as safe water for widows and orphans in Rwanda, reconstruction of an orphanage destroyed in the Haiti earthquake, and the construction of a school, clinic and rain harvesting system in Kenya. This later project is done in partnership with Save-a-Village.(www.saveavillage.ca)
